Stone Ridge

Stone Ridge is known as a mixed planned community. Within the community is a retail area with a Harris Teeter, Walgreens, Bank and much more. Many more stores are in the village center plaza: Subway, Glory Days, Postnet, Wendy’s, Seven-Eleven, Cingular Wireless and many more.

There is also planned office space and a library that is currently being built. This is an area you could potentially live and work at. The community has an impressive amount of retail, office and industrial space planned, as well as recreational areas.

Schools
Currently there is a Gum Spring Library which is under construction. The schools include the Mercer Middle School, Arcola Elementary School and Freedom High School. These schools are recently constructed. The area is part of Loudoun county which is one of the best school systems in the country.

Lenah Run

The community itself has a common pool and more. They layout is unlike many others as the builder left a significant amount of open space. Instead of developing every square inch they decided to cluster the homes in groups and leave large untouched areas between them. The feeling is much like a country setting and almost as if you are leaving and entering multiple developments as you travel between them. This area is also not developed with internal shopping so it is clearly a home only community with a nice peaceful setting although close to everything you could need.

Broadlands Homes

This community in Ashburn, Va, Broadlands is a planned community that has all the amenities you would probably want to plan into your own community if you had the opportunity. The Stream Valley Park runs through the entire community. There are multiple playgrounds, nature areas, picnic areas and a nature boardwalk.

The location is ideal for travelers and particularly international travelers as it is located near the Dulles International Airport. An interesting fact, is that Broadlands is a Certified Wildlife Habitat Community. It is only the 25th community nationwide to achieve this certification.

The HOA is very active and sponsors events during the year, including: weekly nature programs, a visit with Santa, an Easter Egg Hunt and visit with the Easter bunny, a Halloween Parade, and more.

Brambleton Town Center
Take a look at the Brambleton Town Center index of merchants. Everything is provided whether you are looking for a night out or shopping on the weekend. There are entertainment stores, dining, health & beauty, apparel, home stores and services. Services provided are dentistry, cleaners, banking, eye, grocery, shipping, chiropractic and more.

Schools
The local high school is Briar Woods, and there are two elementary schools: Legacy Elementary and Creighton Corners Elementary. If you are looking for a smaller community with more open undeveloped areas take a look at Lenah run homes and their quiter less developed area.

Belmont Homes

Belmont Country Club
An example of a well thought out community is the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn. The idea was to create an amazing golf course community with all the amenities you could hope for. They did this with an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. They, Toll Brothers, also created a fantastic Clubhouse with swimming and tennis. That is one community with an eye towards privacy, luxury, and relaxation.

Belmont Greene
Belmont Greene is off of Rt. 7 by way of Belmont Ridge Road. There is a highschool, Stone Bridge High School, and Belmont Station Elementary School. The development has over 700 units, a shopping center and more including restaurants. Playgrounds and community pool make this an excellent family development.

Another similar development you may like are the Broadlands Homes, another development with community features for families and young professionals alike.

Beacon Hill Homes

As these lots are large there are some 5-10 acre wooded equestrian sites. It is nice to see a neighborhood that allows horses. These are amazing homes that allow horses and has and incredible golf course as well. Two characteristics that you rarely see together in a community.

Homes in this area do not come available often but when they do they are worth a look. Looking at a potential new home is not just the home itself but the community as well. The euphoria of a new home should not take over completely to the point of not looking at the surrounding area. If you love golf and also want to have horses then this is an area you should not overlook it.

Small and Exquisite
The area is large with a small number of homes, if you are looking for a larger number of homes you may like to take a look at South Riding homes for a larger selection and type of homes.

Ashburn Homes

There are multiple sub-divisons such as: Ashbrook, Ashburn Farm, Ashburn Village, Brambleton, Broadlands, Farmwell, The Courts and Ridges at Ashburn, Belmont Greene, Belmont Country Club and many more.

It can be quite overwhelming as some simple online searches will yield 50 or more new home communities. Home communities range from condominiums to townhomes, single family homes and those considered luxury homes or executive homes. The term “luxury” is interesting as all of the new home communities are quite impressive, whether it’s a 4,000 sq ft single family or a 3,000 sq ft town home, even a 1,200 sq ft condo when new in this area is very impressive.
